Anger is destructive and causes tragedies. It destroys relationships, family and hurtful confrontations to people. Those with several attacks of rage suffer from "intermittent explosive disorder" (DSM-IV). Usually an episode of frustration occurs before a person is in a fit of rage. Often the cause of the episode of anger a person feels or perceives that they are being attacked or betrayed, as in the case of couples in which a man abuses his wife because he assumes she has extramarital affairs, or abuses a child who made a mistake that do not warrant the disproportionate force of reaction.
Rabies is a natural defense that helps the survival of the species, like fear, happiness or love. But when anger is uncontrolled, there is anger and the corresponding excesses, anger and verbal or physical violence. While rabies provides the necessary aggression to defend against a possible attack by an animal, anger causes no previous attack of third parties. Instead, it is an offensive conduct intended to cause destruction, punishment, revenge, offense or injury to another person.
Anger upsets the person psychologically and produces physiological changes that harms the circulatory system, dangerous levels of blood pressure is attained, body muscle tension and breathing speeds up, which in short, undermines the health of the extreme stress that drives them. Emergent sleep disorders like insomnia and disturbances in eating and digestion. All this without mentioning the damage that they infringe on others with verbal or physical connections.
The fit of anger, or intermittent explosive attack is characterized by angry, violent episodes, in which the person cannot control these impulses of savagery and loss of mental and emotional control, endangering the safety of others, insulting or injuring or damaging everything around them without considering the consequences.
